Recurly Chatbot Integration That Recovers Subscribers and Drives Upgrades
Every failed payment, expiring trial, and upgrade opportunity in Recurly can become a conversation. BotPenguin turns billing events into WhatsApp and website chats.
About This Integration
Recurly
This Recurly chatbot integration connects BotPenguin conversations with Recurly billing events. It helps subscription teams recover subscribers, prompt upgrades, and follow up beyond email. Recurly manages subscription billing, payment retries, invoices, plans, and subscriber data. But billing events often need a live conversation to protect revenue.
The BotPenguin Recurly integration turns those events into WhatsApp, website, and Instagram conversations. A failed payment can become a recovery chat. An expiring trial can become an upgrade prompt. A cancellation signal can become a retention conversation before revenue is lost.
How BotPenguin Connects to Recurly
Churn Recovery and Renewals

What Recurly is Built For
Recurly is built to manage subscription billing at scale. It handles plans, recurring payments, invoices, failed payment workflows, and subscriber records.
It helps subscription businesses run billing operations with less manual work. Once a subscriber is in Recurly, billing workflows can run automatically.
The Gap
Recurly manages billing events, but recovery often depends on communication. Email alone may not reach subscribers at the right moment.
A failed payment needs a response. A trial ending needs a timely upgrade conversation. A cancellation signal needs fast retention follow-up.
What BotPenguin Adds
BotPenguin becomes the conversational revenue layer on top of Recurly. It turns billing events into live conversations across active channels.
A failed payment can trigger a WhatsApp recovery chat. An expiring trial can trigger a website chatbot upgrade prompt.
